What Client’s Should Expect During Their First Massage
Your First Massage
After hearing family and friends talk about getting massages, it’s now time to treat your own body to some selfcare with a rejuvenating massage!
Prior to the massage, an intake form will be emailed to you. This intake form gives us therapists a broad understanding of your overall health.
For your massage session dress comfortable, forget the makeup and if you have long hair, we’d recommend a hair tie.
Be sure to drink water that day and have food in your system, this will help your body recover after the session is over.
Before your massage begins you will have a brief talk with your highly educated therapist to discuss your current level of physical health, past injuries/ surgeries, current complaints and future goals to allow the therapist to understand what you would like to gain from this treatment.
After that, the therapist will leave the room to allow you privacy to undress and get on the heated bed. There is a blanket and a sheet on the table for you to get under. Shortly after the therapist will knock and reenter the room. Please don’t worry about your bodies physique or worry about if you forgot to shave. The therapist isn’t there to judge you but rather help achieve a better level of health.
We take our clients comfort level surriously, especially those new to massage. So during the massage the therapist will ask how the pressure level is. Make sure if the pressure is too deep or not deep enough to make that fact known to the therapist so the desired pressure can be applied. This can be said at any time even after the therapist has asked. Different spots will feel different levels of pain and we want you comfortable the whole session.
When the massage is over, the therapist will thank you for your time and give you privacy to take your time getting up, to move and stretch around feeling the difference in your body, and to redress to leave the treatment room.
After the treatment the therapist may talk about some of the main problem areas and may suggest some home-self care treatment. A custom treatment plan will be created for you if you choose to consider further treatment.
Remember to drink a decent amount of water after the session to help your body recover from this new form of treatment.
We are confident that after your first massage treatment, you’ll wonder why you waited to long in the first place!
